  The reason why it is important to develop green buildings and promote building energy conservation is that carbon reduction in the construction field has become a key link for China to achieve the goal of carbon peak and carbon neutralization.The report of the International Energy Research Center shows that globally,the construction industry contributes 40%of the total carbon emissions;According to the"China Building Energy Consumption Research Report(2020)"released by the energy consumption special committee of the China Building Energy Conservation Association,the total carbon emission of the whole process of national construction accounted for 51.3%of the national carbon emission in 2018.
 
  In recent years,building energy conservation has a good momentum of development.With the help of advanced technologies such as"direct and flexible light storage"and"shallow geothermal energy",green buildings have achieved leapfrog development.All new buildings in cities and towns across the country have implemented mandatory standards for energy conservation,and energy conservation in new buildings has been fully realized.At the same time,about 4000 products nationwide have obtained green building materials evaluation certificates,gradually realizing large-scale applications,and prefabricated buildings are increasingly popular.In the first half of this year,new prefabricated buildings accounted for more than 25%of the new construction area,and the construction area of prefabricated buildings amounted to 2.4 billion square meters.
 
  Green building refers to a high-quality building that saves resources,protects the environment,reduces pollution,provides people with healthy,applicable and efficient use space,and maximizes the harmonious coexistence between man and nature.There are strict criteria for green building,and the level of green building standards in China has been gradually improved.The current"green building evaluation standard"has established five evaluation systems:safety and durability,health and comfort,convenient life,resource conservation,and livable environment.Green buildings are divided into four levels:basic level,one star level,two star level and three star level.
 
  In addition to vigorously developing green buildings,to achieve carbon reduction in the construction field,we should further carry out the energy conservation work of existing buildings,vigorously develop green construction methods such as prefabricated buildings,reduce the resource consumption of the construction industry and realize the conversion of old and new kinetic energy by supporting the promotion and Application of green building materials products and the reduction of construction waste.
 
  Building energy conservation should run through the whole life cycle of buildings,and the energy-saving transformation of existing buildings is also an important part of building energy conservation.In recent years,China has continued to carry out energy-saving transformation of existing residential buildings and public buildings.Guide the clean transformation of heat sources and the improvement of building energy efficiency in rural areas,promote the transformation of clean heating and energy conservation in northern China in winter,actively promote the energy statistics,audit and publicity of office buildings of state organs and large public buildings,and explore the use of market-based methods to implement the energy-saving transformation of high energy consuming public buildings.
